The first ever WORLD CHIMPANZEE DAY is around the corner! The Bulindi Chimpanzee & Community Project is a grassroots conservation project dedicated to conserving chimpanzees under unimaginable pressure in Uganda's Hoima District. Here, around 300 chimps have lost almost their entire natural habitat to deforestation and agriculture. The challenges to conservation in this region are enormous and -- as English soccer fans will understand -- there are no overnight wins! But, step by step, we ARE making a difference, and we're in it for the long haul. If you can help, please donate to our project this World Chimpanzee Day. All donations go directly to our programs on the ground. Thanks and Pant Hoots to our sponsor Friends of Chimps! The image shows Sylvester, the majestic alpha male of the Bulindi community, enjoying last of the season's mangoes.
